Mole, Skin Tag & Milia Removal

Small skin lumps and bumps — moles, skin tags, milia — can be surprisingly persistent, and often catch, snag, or sit right where you notice them. Our in-clinic removal treatments are focused, precise, and delivered with the aftercare needed for the skin to heal well.

At Platinum Cosmetic Skin Clinic, mole, skin tag and milia removal is performed by Camilla, our Dermal Therapist, at our Hawker Clinic. Moles must be cleared by your GP or a dermatologist before removal — a non-negotiable safety step. Skin tags and milia don't require pre-clearance.

Important: Mole, Skin Tag and Milia Removal is offered at our Hawker Clinic only. If you're a regular Queanbeyan client, please factor travel into your booking.

What People Come In For

You have a mole, skin tag, milium, or benign lesion that:

  • Catches on clothing, jewellery, or during shaving
  • Sits in a visible or self-conscious place (eyelid, neckline, face)
  • Has been there long enough that you'd just like it gone
  • Has been checked and cleared as benign by your GP or dermatologist (for moles)
  • Won't respond to normal skincare or extraction at home (milia)

Common concerns clients book for:

  • Skin tags on the neck, upper chest, underarms and eyelids
  • Cleared moles on the face, neck or body
  • Milia — small, firm, white bumps around the eyes, cheeks or forehead that won't extract at home
  • Other small benign lesions confirmed as suitable for cosmetic removal

Important — Medical Clearance for Moles

All moles must be reviewed by your GP or a dermatologist before your removal appointment. We do not assess moles for skin cancer or pre-cancer risk — this is a medical assessment outside our scope of practice. Once your GP or dermatologist has confirmed a mole is benign and suitable for cosmetic removal, we are happy to proceed.

Skin tags and milia do not require pre-clearance — they are clearly benign by appearance — but it's always sensible to mention any new, changing or unusual lesions to your GP as a matter of routine.

How Each Treatment Works

Moles and skin tags are removed using a precise in-clinic procedure under local anaesthetic. The lesion is gently taken off, the area is treated to support healing, and aftercare is discussed on the day. A small scab typically forms over the site and falls off naturally within 5–10 days for facial areas, longer for the body.

Milia are removed by gently opening the surface with a sterile instrument and releasing the small keratin core. It's a quick, precise procedure that's well tolerated — no local anaesthetic is required, and small marks at each extraction point typically settle within a day or two.
