Chemical Peels

Chemical peels at Platinum Cosmetic Skin Clinic are professional, tailored treatments that support skin renewal, brightness and overall skin clarity. Using clinical-grade solutions applied in a controlled way, peels work with your skin's natural shedding cycle to support a smoother, fresher-looking complexion.

We offer two peel categories — Meso Peels (our medical-grade peel range targeted to specific skin concerns) and Bio-Repeel (a no-downtime peel with both exfoliating and bio-revitalising action). Your therapist will recommend the right peel at your appointment based on your skin assessment and goals.

Chemical peels can also be incorporated as part of our Clinical Facials where appropriate. If you're specifically interested in a peel-led treatment, this page is the right starting point.

What People Come In For

You want a professional treatment that goes beyond surface exfoliation — something that supports skin renewal at a deeper level for clearer, brighter, more refined-looking skin.

Common reasons clients book a Chemical Peel:

  • The appearance of pigmentation, uneven tone or sun damage
  • The appearance of fine lines and dullness
  • Congested or breakout-prone skin
  • A more refined-looking surface and overall radiance
  • A regular treatment as part of a longer-term skin plan
  • Pre-event skin refresh with visible results

The Two Peel Categories

Meso Peels

Meso is a professional medical-grade peel range developed by Mesoestetic — a Spanish cosmeceutical line known for evidence-based, dermatologist-developed formulations. We offer four Meso peels at our clinic, each formulated for a specific skin concern. Your therapist will assess your skin at your appointment and select the right peel for you on the day.

This is the same tailored approach as our Clinical Facials — the right peel for the right skin, not a one-size-fits-all formula. Meso peels may involve mild flaking or peeling over the days following treatment, which is part of the renewal process.

The four Meso peels we offer:

  • Acne Peel — supports the appearance of breakout-prone, congested skin. Active blend formulated to clear and refine skin where breakouts and oiliness are the primary concern.
  • Blemi Peel — supports the appearance of post-acne marks, uneven texture and visible blemish history. A step beyond active-acne treatment, focused on the after-effects.
  • Pigment Peel — supports the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, uneven tone and melasma-style discolouration. Brightening-focused formulation.
  • Anti-Ageing Peel (Jessner) — supports the appearance of fine lines, dullness and overall skin renewal. Classic clinical Jessner formulation for visible refresh.

All four Meso peels are priced the same. Your therapist will recommend the right one for you at your appointment.

Bio-Repeel

Bio-Repeel is a no-downtime TCA-based peel combining surface exfoliation with bio-revitalising actives. It supports the appearance of skin renewal, hydration and overall radiance without the visible flaking sometimes associated with traditional peels.

Bio-Repeel is often a good first-time peel for clients who want results without the social downtime, and a popular pre-event choice.

Cosmelan Pigmentation Program

For clients with more established pigmentation concerns — including melasma, sun damage, post-inflammatory pigmentation, or stubborn uneven tone that hasn't responded to single peels — we offer the Cosmelan Pigmentation Program: a structured, multi-phase protocol from Mesoestetic, internationally recognised as the gold standard in clinical depigmentation.

Cosmelan is not a single appointment. It's a 3–6 month program combining an in-clinic mask application with a structured home-care protocol and follow-up support. Your skin progresses through four phases:

Phase 1 — Pre-Protocol Consultation (included, required before booking) Pigmentation assessment with your therapist. We confirm Cosmelan is the right protocol for your skin (some pigmentation responds better to other approaches), review your medical history, walk you through the timeline and what to expect, and answer any questions. At this consultation we order your personalised Cosmelan kit — this typically takes around a week to arrive, which is why a consultation is required before your in-clinic mask appointment can be booked.

Phase 2 — In-Clinic Mask Application (once your kit has arrived) The Cosmelan 1 depigmenting mask is applied in clinic and left on the skin for several hours (your therapist will guide on timing for your skin). You return home with the mask in place and remove it at the time specified. The first 2–7 days involve visible peeling and redness — this is the active phase of the protocol and a normal part of the process.

Phase 3 — Intensive Home Care (first 3 months) Daily application of Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream (included) plus supporting products to support skin recovery and continued pigment management. Your therapist provides detailed daily instructions and is available for questions throughout.

Phase 4 — Maintenance & Follow-Up Follow-up clinic visits at key milestones to assess progress and adjust the home protocol as needed. Long-term maintenance recommendations to support your result over the months and years that follow.

What's included in the $1,500 program:

  • Pre-protocol consultation and pigmentation assessment
  • In-clinic Cosmelan 1 mask application
  • Take-home Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream
  • Supporting home-care products (recovery balm, hydrator, SPF as needed)
  • Follow-up clinic visits to monitor progress

Important to know before booking:

  • A consultation is required before your in-clinic treatment — your Cosmelan kit is ordered specifically for you and takes around a week to arrive, so we need to meet you first
  • This is a commitment — 3–6 months of consistent home care for best results
  • Phase 2 involves visible peeling and downtime (typically 5–10 days where you'll want to stay out of social settings)
  • Strict sun avoidance throughout the program — Cosmelan and UV exposure don't mix
  • Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Not suitable immediately after isotretinoin / Roaccutane use
  • Results are progressive — final outcome assessed at 6 months

Ready to start? Get in touch or book a Personalised Aesthetic Consultation and we'll plan from there. Plan for around a 2-week window between your consultation and your in-clinic mask appointment to allow for your kit to arrive.

What Happens at the Treatment

At your appointment, your therapist will:

  • Discuss your skin concerns and any recent skincare or treatments
  • Assess your skin and recommend the right peel (Meso or Bio-Repeel) for your goals on the day
  • Cleanse and prepare the skin
  • Apply the peel in controlled layers, monitoring your skin's response throughout
  • Neutralise (where applicable) and apply post-peel calming and hydrating products
  • Finish with SPF and provide tailored aftercare instructions

The treatment itself is typically 30–45 minutes. Most clients describe a mild tingling or warmth during application that settles quickly.
