Milia Removal

Milia are small, firm white cysts that sit just under the surface of the skin — most commonly around the eyes, cheeks, forehead and mouth. They form when keratin (a natural skin protein) becomes trapped beneath the surface, and unlike blackheads they don't have an open pore, so they cannot be squeezed out at home.

In-clinic milia removal is a quick, precise procedure: the surface of each milium is gently opened with a sterile instrument and the keratin core is released. Treatment is well tolerated, and the small marks left at each extraction point typically settle within a day or two.

At Platinum Cosmetic Skin Clinic, milia removal is performed by our trained clinicians, with care taken to support healing and to talk through what may be contributing to milia formation in the first place.

What People Come In For

You have small white bumps on your skin — usually around the eyes, cheeks or forehead — that won't go away no matter what you put on them. They sit firm beneath the surface, are not painful, and have been there long enough that you'd just like them gone.

Common reasons clients book milia removal:

  • Persistent white bumps around the eyes that makeup can't disguise
  • Milia that appeared after skin trauma, sun damage, or a change in skincare
  • Milia that have been present for months or years without resolving
  • Wanting clearer skin in preparation for an event or photographs

Milia are benign and not a medical concern — but they can be persistent, and they're notoriously difficult to remove safely at home without risking scarring or infection.
